2009 Practice Open Day was a great success!
Our first practice open day -which was held on Saturday the 17th October- was a great success, with a resounding “Thumbs Up” from all those who attended.
The aim of the event was to celebrate completion of the final phase of refurbishments at our Kirkstall Lane surgery. Clients old and new had the chance to come and view our surgery from the consulting rooms through to the kennel area and operating suite.
“Ronnie the Rhino” from Leeds Rhinos was welcoming guests as they arrived and caused quite a stir on Kirkstall Lane with all the attention he was getting! Refreshments were offered upon arrival and staff were on hand to answer any questions about what goes on behind the scenes. One of the drug company rep’s attended the event and discussed senior pet healthcare concerns. Several competitions were running throughout the afternoon, including the chance to win a luxury hamper provided by Merial Animal Health LTD.
All in all a great day was had by all. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make the afternoon very enjoyable!

Aire Veterinary Centre - Supporting our Local Charities...
We cannot stress enough, the importance of our local animal charities and the invaluable service that their staff and volunteers provide to stray and unwanted pets and also to owners unable to afford the cost of private veterinary fees.
We are pleased to support Cats Protection and Dogs Trust with their current neutering campaigns by accepting their low cost neutering vouchers. We realise the importance of reducing the vast numbers of unwanted puppies, kittens, dogs and cats in the West Yorkshire area.
Neutering can also have many other benefits including: Reducing the risks of certain cancers, undesirable behaviour associated with a female animal being on heat or a male looking for a mate, it can help to prevent womb infections providing full ovario-hysterectomy has been carried out and can in some cases also help to prevent territorial fighting and spraying in male cats.
Further information on help with neutering can be obtained by visiting the charities own web-sites, the links are as follows:

Other charities the practice deal with on a regular basis include The Blue Cross and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Over the years our generous clients have donated several hundred pounds to help the RSPCA, Dogs Trust, GDBA and The Blue Cross continue their work, by purchasing badges, toys and Christmas decorations or just by making cash donations.
Donations to any of the above charities can be made at either of our surgeries, or by contacting the charities directly.
