Microchip
We have an increasing list of clients whose pets have gone missing, a lot of whom have no id or microchip number.
Most successful reunions at our practice have involved finding a microchip number which relates to up to date address details and phone numbers of registered owners.
Equally, when pets are brought in by members of the public after a traffic accident, they will automatically be scanned for a microchip. On occasions we have had to inform a client about the loss of their pet. Although very sad, at least it enabled them to make arrangements for their deceased pet rather than not know where the poor thing was or whether it was going to come back home or not.
The cost of microchipping is very reasonable and once chipped we can register you and your pet on the national database through the internet.
