We are a small, forward thinking, friendly team priding ourselves in a high standard of patient and client care.

As well as offering conventional veterinary medicine, we can also offer veterinary acupuncture and alternative treatments with our fully qualified veterinary acupuncturist/healer if a complementary mode of treatment is requested. For more information on acupuncture please click on the link below from the ABVA (Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists).

In 2011, we received RCVS accreditation.  To find out more about RCVS accrditation, please follow the link.

Around the same time, we started offering out clients access to more affordable, good quality pet food through our web shop.  Clients are advised on which diets we advise for their pets at the surgery and the web shop offers around 20% off the recommended retail price for those diets.

Our team has been carefully selected for their excellent customer care capabilities.

We employ two dedicated nurses, two approachable receptionists and two committed veterinarians at your service.

Richard Godfrey RVN (Registered Veterinary Nurse), first joined the practice on a locum basis in 2004 and stayed until 2006 after which he left to pursue other interests.  He rejoined the practice subsequently and continues to show his commitment in animal care, experience with wildlife and client education.

Michael Walsh RVN, joined the practice in 2013 after working in several Yorkshire practices before.  Michael is very knowledgeable about pet insurance and has a natural talent in staff development and training.

Linda Walton ANA (Animal Nursing Assistant), receptionist, joined the practice in 2002 and has been a loyal receptionist in this practice, ensuring the smooth running of Aire Veterinary Centre Ltd.

Nathaniel Ellis, receptionist, joined the practice in August 2017 and is our latest member of staff joining the team.

Aire Veterinary Centre Ltd was originally founded in the 1940s by Mr Kight and was then called Kight and Batchelor.

Kight and Batchelor was then one of the few veterinary surgeons in the area and Mr Kight also operated a surgery in Wakefield at the time.

Mr Batchelor took over the surgery upon Mr Kight's retirement in the 1990's and continued to run the surgery until 2001.

In 2001, N Declunder purchased the practice and the surgery underwent two waves of refurbishments in 2006 and 2009.

N Declunder DVM, MRCVS obtained an MBA (Master of Business Administration) with the Open University in 2009, a Certificate in Acupuncture (member of the ABVA or Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists) from the University of Bristol in 2004 and became a Brennan Healing Science Practitioner in 2012.  For more information on healing servivces for pets and people, please follow the link.  Nathalie works now on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the practice.

Sarah Heppenstall MRCVS, our part time vet works at the practice on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Sarah is well-travelled and is knowledgeable about running a business, having run her own business before moving back to Yorkshire.
